Wiley X Chosen to Deliver High Velocity Protection and Authenticity to Ground-Breaking “Reload” Game

October 22nd, 2010

Wiley X Eyewear has been selected to provide its protective shooting glasses to completely immerse gamers in the most detailed weapons and tactics simulator ever made — Reload by video game publisher Mastiff LLC.

Reload features unbelievably realistic weapons and tactics simulations for popular platforms like Wii, PC and will also soon be available for the iPhone. It delivers an intense virtual experience looking down the barrel as an exhibition shooter, soldier and law enforcement official. Featuring more than twenty-five weapons from some of the best known firearms and shooting gear manufacturers, like Wiley X, Remington and ATK, players will be able to take to the range, deploy into the field or run through various drills with accurate likenesses of weapons and equipment used by the top tactical professionals on the planet.

This innovative new game is one of the first non-violent tactical shooting simulators ever created, focusing on the experience of professional shooting without the blood and violence that is typically front and center in other games in the genre. Thus, Reload has even been given a “T” rating by the ESRB and is considered suitable for teens.

Veteran-owned and operated Wiley X was a logical choice to lend realism to this unique game, as it’s been supplying the world’s most advanced ballistic eyewear to members of the armed forces and law enforcement for decades. Wiley X products are depended upon in the world’s most challenging shooting environments and the brand is synonymous with performance in tactical and shooting sports applications. In fact, Wiley X is the only premium sunglass manufacturer who certifies all of its products to exceed ANSI Z87.1-2003 high velocity and high mass impact standards — with the certification right on the eyewear, near the signature Wiley X logo — and seen on the faces of Special Forces, the Marine Corps, and other upper echelon shooters worldwide.

“Mastiff is partnering with companies like Remington, ATK and Wiley X because our customers want serious outdoor action in the games they play,” reports Danny Hammett, Executive Vice President of Mastiff. “Having accurate likenesses of the real firearms and shooting equipment in our games dramatically amps up the realism factor.”

Giorgio Armani Launches “Frames of Life” Website and Video

October 22nd, 2010

Following the print campaign, out of a personal and intimate vision came Giorgioarmani-framesoflife.com, an interactive online project which enables the user to experience the suggestions and atmospheres of the advertising campaign, personalizing them according to one’s point of view. The user can choose to “become a director” or “become a photographer” creating a personalized video or an exclusive photo album, allowing you to experience life online that can then be shared through social media platforms.

Giorgioarmani-framesoflife.com also permits users to discover and live the new eyewear collection, every time in a different way, thereby transforming web navigation into a truly unique moment.

This project is inspired by the Giorgio Armani archive eyewear collections. These are more than just reproductions of original models that rediscover the artisan quality of those collections and evoke the spirit of the traditional production methods used to make eyewear in the past. The initiative is also a strategic one, for which the main production lines, typical of those years, have been started up again. The result is a collection of eyewear that maintains a strong identity linked to how it is manufactured. At the time these were modern pieces, and now in a modern way we have rediscovered our roots. These are objects with a refined design, which accompany us in every moment of our lives.

A&A Optical Partners with Unite For Sight—Giving Back to the Community

October 22nd, 2010

Joleen Moore

Following the core values of A&A Optical’s founders, A&A continues on the quest to give back to the community at large. Last winter, A&A donated 500 Jalapeños Sol sun frames to Unite For Sight. Joleen Moore, a Unite For Sight volunteer traveled to Accra, Ghana this summer, to work at the Crystal Eye Clinic and personally deliver the Jalapeños sun frames. Traveling up to six hours per day, in order to reach remote villages, Joleen and a group of dedicated volunteers and medical professionals transformed hundreds of lives in a short period of time. Joleen recalls:

“All the patients were very grateful for the services and products that they received… You could tell that it was a blessing to them, to be able to have basic abilities regained, such as reading.”

On her journey, Joleen witnessed firsthand Unite for Sight’s dedication and work towards social change and how the organization transforms lives every day. According to Joleen, there is a primary need for corrective lens. Almost everyone the doctors treated were prescribed reading glasses. In addition, 33% of patients were scheduled to be seen by a surgeon to treat cataracts. Patients with pterygium (a non-cancerous growth that lays over the white part of the eye) were most alleviated by the sun frames. Once
treated, protection from the sun helps prevent pterygium from returning. Joleen and team also saw many people who needed basic moisture or allergy drops. Joleen explains:

“Since they spend so much time in the open air and are not protected by dwellings such as we are, dry eyes and irritated eyes are very common.”

First reporting, while on her trip abroad, Joleen raved about the small, colorful styles of Jalapeños Sol:

“Most of the donated sunglasses are the big bulky type and none of the patients will wear them. They all requested the tiny sunglasses and they love color here…so when Unite For Sight gets to my donation, the patients will be very happy. It is just what they have been asking for. Thanks a Million!”
