Costa Sunglasses—What’s A Girl To Do?

What’s a girl to do? Choose between a pair of sunglasses that look great, or perform well? Now, with Costa Sunglasses – the outdoor adventure brand known for its premium polarized 580™ lens technology and “forget-they’re-on” frame fit – women don’t have to make that choice. The company recently launched four new sunglass styles for women, Hammock, Little Harbor, Tippet and Islamorada, each with their own on trend style and performance functionality.

“We didn’t take one of our existing frame styles, paint it pink and call it a women’s sunglass,” said Chas MacDonald, president of Costa Sunglasses. “We built four entirely new styles, each with the performance technology Costa’s known for, but specifically designed with the progressive fashion trends happening now and engineered to fit women’s face shapes.”

Model: Little Harbor

Costa’s Hammock sunglasses feature a classic big-eye, soft oval shape, in a lightweight nearly indestructible nylon frame. The flexible anti-rocking spring hinges allow the sunglasses to easily stretch to a comfortable fit when worn on the top of the head, where many women wear them when not on their face. Hammock is available in tortoise, black and the fashionable salmon/white crystal combination frame colors.

Little Harbor also boasts a bigger eye in a rectangular shape frame. It’s a medium fitting sunglass with mid-temple placement. Little Harbor comes in tortoise, black and Costa’s black/coral combination frame colors.

Model: Tippet

Tippet, the smallest of the four new women’s styles, features an upswept rectangular profile with added fashionable stainless steel “bling” on the temple. This style provides Costa’s “forget-they’re-on” fit with flexible spring hinges and no-slip Hydrolite™ nose pads to keep the sunglasses comfortably in place on the face. Tippet comes in tortoise, black and white frame colors.

To round out the new collection, Islamorada style has a classic butterfly frame shape and full eye coverage, and also sports some temple “bling.” It features Costa’s no-slip nose pads and anti-rocking spring hinges for maximum durability and comfort. Available in four frame colors – tortoise, black, white and black/coral – Islamorada gives women a variety of stylish options to choose from.

“Whether they’re scaling a mountain, hiking through a rainforest or lounging on the beach, women want the same performance technology as men when it comes to their sunglasses,” said MacDonald. “But they also want something that looks good on them and fits even better. With these new women’s styles, now they can have both.”

Model: Islamorada

Each of the styles are available in Costa’s premium 580™ lens technology, which blocks yellow light from entering the eye, eliminating glare while providing an unparalleled level of polarization and razor sharp color enhancement. They’re also available in Costa’s new 580 Rx program.

Each pair of Costa sunglasses are hand assembled in the company’s Daytona Beach facility, and comes with a lifetime warranty against manufacturer’s defects. The brand is known throughout the outdoors industry for its dedication to marine conservation and sustainable sport fishing advocacy efforts.

Guide Dog Foundation Names New Puppy “Marchon”

Marchon, known as one of the world’s most prominent eyewear companies, is now also the name of a furry black lab/golden cross with a pink collar!

Born on April 5, 2011, the Guide Dog Foundation named the sweet puppy “Marchon” to show their appreciation to Marchon and their accounts for their continuous support at the Vision Expo East and West shows, and generating over $100,000 in monetary contributions.

“Every project we work on with the Guide Dog Foundation is rewarding in itself. To now be an even greater part of their family and have a future guide dog bare the Marchon name, is a proud moment and we are honored by the Foundation’s gesture,” said Claudio Gottardi, Marchon President and CEO.

Since 1946, the Guide Dog Foundation has provided guide dogs free of charge to blind people who seek enhanced mobility and independence. Students come from all over the United States and many foreign countries to attend small classes and individualized instruction often attracting students who may have special requirements. The Guide Dog Foundation is supported entirely by donations from generous individuals, corporations and foundations. The Guide Dog Foundation receives no government funding.

ProDesign New Essential Eyewear

This collection started with just a simple line drawn on a piece of paper. Then another. Then another yet again. The natural way the hand moves, and the energy of the lines tells a story of the intuitive and unconscious inspiration that comes to us at the most unexpected moments.

The color combinations of the acetate temples are exclusive for ProDesign. ProDesign are doing their own color combinations instead of working with pre-manufactured acetate sheets.

The classic monotone of the fronts makes them quite unisex to look at but the way they have made the powerful color combinations on the temples, takes the frames in a more feminine direction. The new Essential comes in two shapes and six colors each.

Safilo Introduces Its New Children’s Frames For Back-To-School

Safilo is pleased to introduce its latest back-to-school options with the release of 10 new children’s frames in its Carrera Kids, Nine West Kids, Juicy Girls and Tommy Hilfiger Kids eyewear collections.

Carrera Kids

Carrera Kids is offering several new metal frames (CA7562, CA7563, CA7564, CA7565 and CA7566) for boys. All styles have stainless steel fronts combined with flex hinges and adjustable nose pads providing superior comfort and durability. Color choices are brown, gunmetal and black. All styles feature single bridges.

Juicy Girls

Juicy Couture is offering two new styles for girls ages seven to 13 in its Juicy Girls eyewear collection. Both are plastic/metal combination frames (Blaise and Cerise) and both styles come with flex hinges. Blaise is a rectangular plastic style which features a larger eye shape for tweens combined with metal temples that feature a floral motif as well as the Juicy Couture logo. Blaise is offered in fun colors of red fade, purple fade or tortoise. Style Cerise has a soft oval shape and is available in pretty tones of purple, rose or brown. The contrasting plastic temples feature the Juicy Couture logo.

Nine West Kids

Nine West Kids is offering two new styles (NW153 and NW154) with fun and trendy styling, targeting girls ages eight to 14, who are looking to emulate the savvy and chic Nine West woman. Style NW153 is a round plastic style offered in color combinations of crystal/plum/pink, crystal/green/brown, and blonde/tortoise/blue. The inside of the temples have vibrant stripes for additional pops of color. NW154, a metal semi-rimless style with plastic temples, comes in fun tones of purple/pink, brown/blue and green/yellow. Fashionable, stylish and fun, both styles have flex hinges for durability.

Tommy Hilfiger Kids

Geared towards active tweens and teens ages nine to 16, who desire casual, contemporary styling, the Tommy Hilfiger Kids debut collection will consist of three very comfortable and wearable styles (TH1076, TH1077, and TH1078). TH1076, a rectangular shaped unisex frame, is made of metal, features flex hinges and adjustable nose pads for additional comfort and fit and comes in colorations of shiny blue, red, brown and ruthenium. Style TH1077, a unisex oval shape, also features flex hinges and adjustable nose pads. This style is offered in colors of light lilac, red, blue and brown. TH1078, also unisex, is a bold plastic frame that features a soft rectangular shape. This style is offered in high impact color combinations of lilac with red temples, red with white, crystal with fuschia or blue with yellow.

FENDI Men’s Sunglass Collection: Sophistication and Style

This season, FENDI features sophistication and style in their men’s sunglass collection. The FENDI double “F” logo subtly accents nose bridges and interior temples and each style is available in an array of colors specifically created for the FENDI men’s collection. The intricate logo application found of FS5138 is applied to the vintage shape of FS5187: the FENDI double “F” logo nose bridge, the engraved metal ring clasped onto temples and the double “F” pattern extending down the interior temples. FS5187 is available in black, brown, Havana, ivory and blue.

FS5188
A balance of zyl and metal, FS5188 is uniquely designed, enhancing the classic frame shape. A matte metal brow is inlayed between rich zyl of black, light havana, havana, and musk green, a play on the visibility of metal and zyl seen throughout the frame. Matte metal temples are engraved with the FENDI logo.

FS5129
The wayfarer is a classic style and staple in the male sunglass wardrobe. FENDI adds subtle accents with a thin metal plaque engraved with the FENDI logo clasped onto double laminate zyl temples. Interior temples feature a repeating FENDI “double” F logo, contrasting solid exteriors of black, light Havana, Havana and musk green.
