The New Koali Frame Shaped Like The Wings of a “Mésange”

February 15th, 2012

The new Koali concept has fun with different eras. While the fronts evoke the 50′s, the temples are shaped like the wings of this delicate little bird, known as “mésange” in French.

The decorative effect on the temples is created by the stylized movement of feathers worked around the metal and continuing to the front. Technically the representation is perfect: the transparent material is overmoulded around the subtly graduated stainless steel decorative element, ensuring stylistic finish and depth.

The color pallet for these models reflect powdered tones, worked in subtle hues of vintage rose, beige, purple mauve, coral red, maroon glacé and grey (6 new colors).

The fronts assert themselves by their retro touch: “cat’s eye” or high “butterfly” shapes in exclusive triple-layered acetate or stainless steel fronts with an openwork endpiece along the temple.

Mésange is available in 7 styles: (3 acetate, 2 stainless steel metal and 2 semi-rimless models) in a wide range of shapes and sizes (49 to 54).

This nature inspired concept will appeal to women who want to assert their personality.

The 1880 Eyewear Collection Reintroduces Marius Morel’s Very First Designs

February 14th, 2012

The 1880 collection reintroduces the elegance of Marius Morel’s very first designs: authentic products subtly updated in terms of volumes and details; reinterpreted using today’s technology.

Felix, the newly released metal concept in the 1880 series recalls the principals of the past using a laser-engraved pattern as its signature design feature. The antique style decorative motif is visible on the frames groove and also discreetly visible on the top and bottom of the brushed-finished contemporary temple.

Model: Felix

Metal fronts and nickel-silver temples are finished with hand crafted acetate endtips, completing the frame’s design. The rimlock is hidden inside the temple endpiece, resulting in a product of outstanding refinement.

A total of 4 metal models, all of which can be fitted with progressive lenses, are available in a palette of 3 colors: bronze, silver and ruthenium.

The “red line” on the inside of the acetate endtip is the subtle hallmark of this collection.

Marius Morel 1880 Introduces First Sunglass Collection

February 8th, 2012

For the first time from Marius Morel 1880, comes an exquisite sun collection; a collaboration of Morel frame manufacturing expertise and the precision of Zeiss optics lens technology.

In 1846, Carl Zeiss created his precision optics workshop at Jena in Germany. A few years later, in 1880, Marius Morel created his very first collection of spectacles in the heart of the Jura, the birthplace of French eyewear. These pioneers never imagined that their know-how and spirit of innovation would live on through the centuries and make each of their names a benchmark in the history of optics.

Model: Samson

The Marius Morel 1880 sunglasses range marries these two outstanding types of expertise to bring you exceptional sunglasses combining eyewear tradition and pure sun protection: authentic frames subtly updated in terms of volumes and details, with Zeiss mineral glass lenses: diamond-cut optical perfection for incomparable purity and comfort!

A total of 12 models are offered in this collection developed in the great eyewear tradition for men and women who are looking for authentic, comfortable and long-lasting sunglasses.

Model: Solène

The Samson and Séverin metal concepts complement the handcrafted acetate models: “Symphorien, Sybille, Séraphin and Solène: each reintroduces the elegance of the very first Marius Morel creations with their discreet recognizable signs and their unrivalled comfort. For lenses: purity, stability and total comfort thanks to two category 3 ultra-slim, Zeiss mineral glass lenses, which are highly polarized to Zeiss standards with an anti-reflective finish on the inside. Optical Certification from the Carl Zeiss Vision Sunlens laboratories guarantees the technical excellence of Marius Morel sunglasses and unimpaired vision: without distortion or prismatic power.

The colors are designed to relax the eye as there are no peaks in the absorption curve, as well as to provide comfort and protection: the brown lens is a blue blocker and the green gives infrared protection!

LIGHTEC Launches Alpha 14 Collection

September 26th, 2011

LIGHTEC is launching the Alpha 14 collection, featuring 5 new models for men. A distinctive part of the frame’s design are the wide injected crystal temples, which offer a contemporary and pure look. The crystal temple is enhanced with a clipped-on, stainless steel hinge support, which provides a hint of color.

The temple injected around the core prevents air from entering, while the nylon/Grilamlid used allows very easy cold alignment. From an aesthetic point of view, the chrome-plated core appears only at the curve of the endtip, guiding the eyes to the colored logo.

Although simplicity inspires the design, it is not in any way simple: The choice of materials used and the precision developed for this concept illustrate how LIGHTEC combines purity with technical excellence and provides the wearer with a light, reliable and comfortable product.

Alpha 14 is available in 2 semi-rimless browbar shapes and 3 rimless shapes in a choice of 6 colors per model, including some highly vibrant shades: orange, lime green, and red.
