Alain Mikli announced that noted eyewear executive Antonio Bortuzzo has been selected as Chief Executive Officer for international operations.
Mr. Bortuzzo joins the group after 5 years as CEO of the Marcolin group and 3 years with Allison Eyewear. With his leadership, Mikli anticipates triple growth in the next four years. NEO capital endorsed the selection of Mr. Bortuzzo to accelerate the international growth and development of the Alain Mikli group.
Mr. Bortuzzo will manage the group for growth and market leadership capitalizing on the company’s philosophy and its strong brand identity. He is committed to the Mikli core development strategies.

The Mikli Growth Objectives
- Products: Sales in all brands under the Mikli Group are projected to grow while keeping both their own identity and design originality. The company is committed to the expansion of market share of the Alain Mikli and Starck Eyes brands with the introduction of new strong and international collections. Mikli par Mikli will be given a genuine brand identity. The new Jean-Paul Gaultier eyewear will be launched in multiple markets. The successful Vuarnet’s brand identity and market share will be maintained and increased. New lines are under development.
- Retail: 6 new Mikli boutiques have already opened during early autumn in Hong Kong, Taipei, Tokyo, Kyoto, San Francisco and Los Angeles. This rapid expansion of independent boutiques is projected to continue in Asia and the United States.
- Distribution: The group will aggressively pursue a presence and identity in several key geographical areas, notably the Middle East an South America, where it does not yet have the leading market share.
- Service to our customers: Mikli will strengthen its service commitment to its wholesale and retail clientele. The service commitment to provide the most thorough services and share efficiently our passion for the job and our know-how have been the very essence of the Alain Mikli International house.

During his two-year tenure, former CEO Dominique Alba was responsible for creating the financial structure and strategic plan fueling the company’s growth and expansion in key markets. He negotiated the addition of the Vuarnet brand to the Mikli corporate group.
Mr. Alba continues his adventure with the group as shareholder and director. This loyalty illustrates the originality of the Alain Mikli International group and the men and women who are part of it.
